About Our MissionThe mission of the ACHS Mu Alpha Theta chapter is to provide a method for recognizing and encouraging students who enjoy and excel in mathematics. We accomplish this by inspiring members to participate in math competitions, developing their knowledge of advanced mathematics topics , engaging them in social activities with their peers, and providing them with special awards and accolades for their accomplishments. Math is in everything around us–from the nature of our universe to baking delicious chocolate chip cookies. With that said, we want to bring a lasting legacy of passionate learning to our school. We want students to get excited about learning math and its endlessly fascinating real-life applications. And while knowing math helps us go about our daily lives, the study of math can change us as individuals. Our goals and achievements can be condensed into a single life lesson... "You just keep pushing. You just keep pushing. I made every mistake that could be made. But, I just kept pushing." - Rene Descartes ...as avid learners and future leaders, we must continue pushing. |
